PRESIDENT:

•  The President will preside at all executive and general membership meetings. The President will represent OJEA/JEA members at national JEA meetings and on other occasions when necessary. The President will call meetings and is responsible for establishing an agenda for all meetings.

• The president is responsible for presenting a budget and program for the coming year at the first meeting of the Board of Directors. Following their modifications of the plan, it is the President’s responsibility to facilitate implementation.

• The President is responsible for filling vacancies and for making all other appointments, with the concurrence of the Board of Directors.

• It is the responsibility of the President to oversee a membership drive, a journalism competition, and conduct at least four board meetings each year, in addition to other goals, as established by the Board of Directors.

VICE-PRESIDENT

• It is the primary duty of the Vice President to assist the President with his/her duties.

• The Vice President will preside over OJEA functions in the absence of the President.The Vice President shall oversee membership in the association, working with the Treasurer to update the roster of current members, sending correspondence about membership renewals, and outreaching to potential members within the state.

• The Vice President will also have account access for all social media accounts and is responsible for posting materials contributed by other Board members to the accounts as well as maintaining the website.

SECRETARY:

•  It is the primary duty of the Secretary to keep minutes of all OJEA meetings and to take care of OJEA correspondence.

TREASURER:

• It is the primary duty of the Treasurer to collect and disperse funds, and oversee budgets for OJEA programs. It is also the duty of the Treasurer to file the appropriate IRS documents pertaining to the organization’s nonprofit tax status as well as the yearly Charitable Organization reports to the state. This will be done following the Board of Directors approving the report as presented by the Treasurer. This report will be presented to the Board of Directors at least one month prior to the required filing date. 

STATE JEA DIRECTOR:

• is selected in accordance with the bylaws of JEA 

• It is the primary duty of the State JEA Director to represent all JEA members within the state who are not affiliated with OJEA, and to keep OJEA apprised of JEA activities.

• 
  

• The State JEA Director will also organize and conduct OJEA elections.

REGIONAL JEA DIRECTOR:

•  It is the primary duty of the Regional JEA Director (when from the state) to represent all JEA members within the state who are not affiliated with OJEA, and to keep OJEA apprised of JEA activities.

JEA MENTOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR:

•  It is the primary duty of the JEA Mentor Program Coordinator to keep OJEA apprised of JEA Mentor Program activities. 

• Will work to connect and coordinate mentors with new advisers in the region.
